The Weekend

The 2012 Fall Festival focuses on a different group of historical Christians whose journeys and testimonies are an encouragement and inspiration. The weekend is a great venue for gay and lesbian Christians to learn, connect, worship and relax in Ocean Grove, a National Historic Landmark resort offering the beach, boardwalk and the largest collection of Victorian architecture in the nation. Ocean Grove is just 1½ hours south of New York City on New Jersey seashore. The conference begins on Friday October 5th at 4pm with registration and ends on Sunday October 7th after lunch. Cost is $200 and includes room and meals.

The Centennials:

·         Lottie Moon: (December 12, 1840 – December 24, 1912) Charlotte Digges "Lottie" Moon  was a Southern Baptist missionary to China with the Foreign Mission Board who spent nearly forty years (1873–1912) living and working in China. As a teacher and evangelist she laid a foundation for traditionally solid support for missions among Baptists in America.

·         William Booth: (10 April 1829 – 20 August 1912) was a British Methodist preacher who founded The Salvation Army and became its first General (1878–1912). The Christian movement with a quasi-military structure and government founded in 1865 spread from London, England to many parts of the world and is known for being one of the largest distributors of humanitarian aid. William Booth was born in Sneinton, Nottingham, England.

·         Francis Schaeffer: (30 January 1912 – 15 May 1984) was an American Evangelical Christian theologian, philosopher, and Presbyterian pastor. He is most famous for his writings and his establishment of the L'Abri community in Switzerland.

·         Jacques Ellul: (January 6, 1912–May 19, 1994) was a French philosopher, law professor, sociologist, and lay theologian.

Evangelicals Concerned and Dr. Ralph Blair

Evangelicals Concerned (EC) is a national network of gay and lesbian evangelical Christians.  EC has been supporting the gay and lesbian community and integration of sexuality and Christian faith since 1975 by providing hope, encouragement, teaching and fellowship. Through conferences and publications EC’s mission is to spread the Good News of God's grace and peace in Christ to a people called to lives of grateful service.  This year our speaker and preacher will be Dr. Ralph Blair, founder and president of Evangelicals Concerned, Inc.
